The Grey Cairns of Camster are a few miles from the NC500 but well worth the detour: One long cairn with two entries and chambers and one round cairn with one chamber wait for you to crawl inside - marvelous. Hill o'Many Stanes is one of the funniest and cutest sights in Scotland and lonely a very short way off the NC500: more than 200 stones less than a meter high rows that are hard to see even from the air. It's more than 4.000 years old and probably boasted 600 stones in its heyday.Cairn o'Get is a bit harder to get to - almost a mile for the return trip on foot - beware of midges. You find a single chambered cairn without its roof.
