As many of you know, Reelsteady GO is a little finicky about how you mount the GoPro onto the drone. RSGO recommends using the Hero 6 on drones because the high frequency vibrations mess with the gyro data needed to properly stabilize the video using the program, especially with the Session5 and Hero7 cameras because they have a more sensitive gyro, and if you don't take this into consideration the software actually makes your footage WORSE! I have been, along with many others, driving myself cray trying to get this program to work consistently because when it DOES work the results are truly magical! Until now I had only found ways of getting the Hero7 to work on a smaller cinewhoop and the mount that RSGO recommends is soo flimsy that it slightly works on the cinewhoop flights but as soon as you put ANY G forces to it it crumbles and doesn't hold up that well and then RSGO can't stabilize your footage. :( GREAT NEWS!!! I am SUPER PUMPED that I finally found a mounting solution that WORKS WITH A Session 5 and also works on a FULL SIZE MINI-QUAD! I even threw some upside down moves in there and it handled it brilliantly! This excites me personally and I'm sure you guys are curious too! Here's how to mount a GoPro Session 5 to work with ReelsteadyGO: *Mount on a flat frame or solid wedge at your desired angle. *Use the SOFTEST foam you can find. (THICK! 1"-2") *Put GoPro in a sleeve mount. Strap needs a slot to attach to so you don't lose the cam in the next step (I'm using my "Minimal Session Mount" to hold my ND in place while keeping the camera super secure looping the strap thru the top slots, available on my site stanfpv.com) *Place a large strap around the whole cam stack, as loose as possible! Seriously, almost not even doing anything and the reason we needed the mount with strap slots! *Cross your fingers! *And Toes! *Enjoy that SICK SMOOTH FOOTY! :) Interested in Reelsteady GO? In this flight I was also testing the newer TBS Master Pilot series budget motors (2306, 2400kv) on my KISS V1 4.5 Drop Alien set-up. They perform very well especially for the price! They have similar performance to the old Mr Steele V1 motors with only slightly more vibrations at higher throttle (which RSGO handled so good!) Follow me on all my social media!
