Named after the current (2020) King of this North African country, the bridge spans the Bouregreg River. The cable-stayed bridge has a total length of 950 meters or about 3.2k ft; its longest single span is 376 meters or a bit over 1.2k ft. The bridge was completed in 2016, following a half-decade construction period. The bridge's towers are designed to be shaped like doors, symbolizing a doorway into Morocco's capital city.
