Pitcher #17 - Looking For FLOW - ImpulseRC Alien 5 & 6

After two weeks with no flying at all we were itching to get back on the sticks. Saturday was a wonderful sunny day and so we charged all lipos we have and went out to a new spot - an abandoned freight train yard.

Well, as with all spots you go to for the first time it either "clicks" or it doesn't. This one was one of those. The place was just full of obstacles, ninja branches and shit that kills your quad. Difficult (for us) to fly clean lines because there was just always something in the way, then you get cautious and not into the FLOW. The locomotive shed seriously looked amazing but we didn't get the best out of it. All the time there were people around taking pics. The next spot was a hub for locomotives, better than the shed but not great either.

We flew a bunch of batteries and got some halfway decent video recorded but experienced issues with the F60 pro - on both setups - 5" and 6". It seems that the higher cogging of the pro motors is the reason for vibrations I wasn't able to tune out no matter how hard I tried. They are super powerful but run pretty rough compared to the V2s. I think we will have to switch back! For this session we flew with the 5" running F60/2450kV V2 on RK5051.

After that we drove to Oranienburg, our favourite hangar - and met Alien pilot 42loops and a friend of him. Both were so fun to hang out with. It was actually the first time we flew with other fpv pilots and it's clearly a great experience we have missed before. Fpv problems: we've fiddled around to find some video frequency in order to fly together but couldn't get it working for whatever reason. In order to save time we have decided to fly one after the other which was an ok solution. :) Damn we should read our manuals haha. However, at one point - actually exactly at the moment when Ray approached to fly into the hangar with the 6" Widowmaker our friend plugged in the battery and the vtx of his Alien... well... and the rest is #fpvlife! :)

At least we have found the FLOW again!
