The observatory sits atop a mountain of the same name, a peak in the Pyrenees Mountains which has a summit elevation of about 2.9k meters above sea level (about 9.4k ft.). Completed in 1908, Pic du Midi is generally considered to be one of the top observatories in Europe. Freeway Prod's video provides stunning aerial views of this spectacular mountaintop site.
