First a little gruesome history - "Peter's Stone (named after its resemblance to the dome shape of St Peter's Basilica in Rome) is the prominent limestone knoll at the northern end of the valley (the Wardlow Mires). It used to be called Gibbet Rock where the last gallows in the county once stood. The gibbet was an iron cage holding the dead bodies of executed criminals as a deterrent to others. One of the last cases of gibbeting was of Anthony Lingard from Tideswell in 1815. He was convicted and executed in Derby for killing Hannah Oliver, the toll-keeper at Wardlow Mires, for a pair of red boots. His corpse was hung in chains on Peter’s Stone." Headed out expecting snow at this location, no snow but a killer sky, what a sunrise! Nice to get treated to some nice light again. Would have liked it on the foreground in areas but soon as the sun rose along came the cloud. Have to excuse the odd twitches, ive been blaming it on the high winds but with zero wind today and still doing it its looking like a motor problem so ill be cracking on with that. Need to have 100% trust in the Chimera 7 for my Scotland trip coming up. No filters needed today, still a bit dark in places but had to balance between the sky and foreground.
