This youngest Orava village lies on the border of Orava, Kysúc and Poland, in the picturesque surroundings of the Slovak Beskydy and Oravská Magura, where the river Biela Orava also springs. Heavy snowfall allows skiing on natural snow until mid-April. The Juríkov stream flows through the northern edge of the village, the central part is drained by the Katrenčíkovský stream and the southern edge is delimited by the Bílá Orava stream. Significant altitude (about 800 m above sea level) and location in the cold area of Oravská Lesná ranks among the villages with the coldest weather in Slovakia.
