Ohé en Laak is the village where I grew up. Located on the banks of the river Meuse, which is the border river in this part of the Province of Limburg - Netherlands. On the opposite side of the river our neighbours are living in Belgium. Millions of years ago the river Meuse, having her source in France, deposited lots of gravel in the most southern province of the Netherlands, called the Province of Limburg. In the 20th century this gravel has been dredged, leaving large lakes bordering the river on Dutch as well on Belgian side. Ohé en Laak counts around 700 inhabitants and nowadays is part of the Maasgouw municipality.
