(around 40 km) southwest of the Malaysian capital city Kuala Lumpur. During the period when Malaysia was part of the British Empire, the port was known as Port Swettenham. Part of the state of Selangor, Port Klang is Malaysia's main port for external trade, and one of the dozen busiest containerports in the world.
