Neda was the daughter of Oceanus and one of the three nymphs who raised Zeus in Arcadia. The river got its name was created, according to the legend, when Rhea hit with a stick on arid land. So paradox-but so important, it is the female of the name, that the signs on the streets of the surrounding villages write "River Neda '-diefkrinisi obviously important if one takes into account that some maps of the early last century refer to it as "River Neda".
