AIRVŪZ STAFF NOTE : The Maldives islands in the Indian Ocean are spread out over a long stretch of the sea, yet they collectively only cover about 300 square km (around 115 square mi.). Nearly a third of the country's 400k+ inhabitants live in the capital city of Malé, which covers just a few square km/mi. in one of the northernmost of the country's atolls.
