Loch Lomond, Scotland

Loch Lomond is one of the most well-known Scottish lakes.  It's located in west-central Scotland, in the area generally defined as the border between the Scottish Highlands and Lowlands.  Covering a surface area of just over 70 square km (around 28 square mi.), it's the largest freshwater lake on the island of Great Britain.  With a maximum depth of just over 150 meters (around 500 ft.), it's also one of the UK's deepest lakes.
