Host of the 1960 Winter Olympics, Lake Tahoe is a vacation destination for people around the country. The Olympics were located in the Squaw Valley on the California side of the lake, however Lake Tahoe straddles Cali and Nevada. It is known for its beaches, ski resorts, and the multiple state parks that surround the freshwater lake.
