Lac Vert is small but iconic-looking mountain lake near the town of Passy. It's located just west of Chamonix, the famous ski town, in the shadow of Mont Blanc, France's (and the Alps') tallest mountain. The lake is part of the Upper Savoy (Haute-Savoie) Department (province) in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, which covers much of the southeastern part of the country.
