A gentle cruise to a volcanic island in the Hauraki Gulf, Auckland. Auckland has many islands and New Zealand for that matter has many small islands just off the coast line and in easy reach of a mid to long range flight. This particular island has been on my hit list for a while. This particular morning all I was really up for was a gently morning cruise. I had concerns about interference of a large radio towers that were behind me and so I just took it easy to ensure I made it back. Browns Island or it's Maori name Motukorea is one of the approximately 48 volcanoes around Auckland and the best preserved. It's highest point is 68 metres above sea level and 2 kilometres from where I was standing. So it was a real thrill to finally be able to fly there.
