The "Vienna Woods thermal region" stretches from the southern outskirts of Vienna along a hilly chain to the region south of Baden. The vineyards are located at the foothills of the Vienna Woods. The region is home to about 1300 wine-growing enterprises. The area features ideal grape-growing conditions: cool and dry, with a plentiful nearby supply of high quality freshwater.
