The eternal flow of rivers is silent, irreversible and all-powerful. It combines an eternal constant and a continuing variation. The time itself is flowing into the Ocean of Eternity. The Icelandic rivers find their way among fields of hardened lava. Year in and year out, over age upon age, the majestic ice tongues have been melting and countless streams and rivers have been finding their own course in order to flow at the end together towards the Ocean. Every river gathers particles from the soil, mountains and volcanoes, with its color and texture becoming unique. This eternal motion frightens us by its irreversibility yet inspires us by its variety.
