The bridge spans the Humber River near the city of Kingston-upon-Hill in the Yorkshire region of northeastern England. With a main span of 1.4k meters (about 4.6k ft.), it was the longest suspension bridge in the world when it opened in 1981, and it remains amongst the world's dozen longest as of 2021. With a total length of 2.2 km (around 1.3 mi.), the bridge connects the East Riding of Yorkshire with North Lancashire.

The Humber Bridge when built in 1981 was the largest single-span road suspension bridge in the world. Not to be surpassed until the Akashi Kaikyo bridge was built in Japan in 1998. Which is now the 11th longest. The bridge is over 1 mile long (7280ft, 2220m, 1.38mi) The bridge still holds the record for longest of its type that you can walk or cycle across. Costing £98,000,000 and including Interest £151,000,000 at completion. It is 94ft wide and 510ft high with a total span of 0.88mi Over 120,000 vehicles use the bridge per week. Which costs £1.50 per car and £4 per onder 7.5 tonnes per axle and £12 over this... So even if only cars used it the bridge would make over £9 million per year but its mainly trucks
