AIRVŪZ STAFF NOTE : For centuries, one of England's great strategic priorities was to defend the Royal Chatham Dockyard on the River Medway in Kent, where over 500 ships were built for the Royal Navy from the 1500's through the 1980's. Following the Raid on the Midway by the Dutch Navy in the late 1600's, the region's defensive fortifications were moved further out towards the mouth of the river. In this drone video by oszibusz, you'll get an aerial view of the Hoo Fort, which was completed in the 1870's and was disarmed prior to the First World War.
