Situated in the heart of the Rocky Mountains in western Colorado, Gunnison (which is both a county and a town) was important in the state's early mining and railroad booms .  Nowadays, like many of Colorado's old mining districts, Gunnison is much more about adventure sports enthusiasts and travelers seeking the spectacular rock formations that abound.  Top contributor MikeyG flew his drone over this rocky wonder land and produced this amazing aerial video of Gunnison, which produced gold until the 1950's.
