Gulf of bones -Oxrid -Macedonia
AIRVŪZ STAFF NOTE :
Lake Ohrid forms part of the border between the countries of Albania and Macedonia in Southeastern Europe. Between 1200 and 600 BC, the lake was home to a civilization which built on a platform anchored to the lake bed with thousands of piles. This rather fascinating bit of history was undercovered as part of an archaeological expedition in the late 1990s. In this drone video by contributor and pilot ilieskispire, you'll get an aerial view of this so-called "Gulf of Bones" on the Macedonian side of the lake.

Gulf of bones - bay in Ohrid Lake and archaeological site of prehistoric settlement on the peninsula and campsite Gradiste. Dabbok is 3 to 5 meters. The place has been named "Ploča Mićov Grad" and today there is a reconstruction of the endowed living quarters (Water Museum "The Bay of the Koskite") and the platform, with its visitors center. Above there is a renewed Roman fortification (castrum) with military facilities from that time. The shortest of the total of 6,000 detected is 12 meters in the lake, which is assumed to be the bridge from the bridge that connected the settlement. It is assumed that it spread to a platform of about 8,500 m², and it had the possibility of 60-storey living space. Many remnants of tools, ceramic items, wood, stone and parts of life as elen horns were discovered on the site. The crowded settlements were the cities on the platform, which stood on a wooden stump stuck on the bottom of the lake. On these roofing platforms, the houses of the prehistoric people were encountered, with the raised bridge being connected to the hill. The inhabitants of these settlements were interested mostly in fishing, but also with agriculture and hunting. These are various items and objects of ceramics and stone found on both dry and under water.
