Some of the most popular spots in the South Pacific island nation of Fiji can be found in the small island chains which run west and north of the main island of Viti Levu. The Mamanucas consists of 20 islands just off Viti Levu's western shore, about a third of which are underwater at high tide. The better-known Yasawas lie to their northeast, and consist of six main islands a little over a dozen smaller ones.
