Eternal Flames of Chimera
AIRVŪZ STAFF NOTE :
Here's an aerial view of an amazing natural sight in the southern part of Turkey, compliments of contributor and drone pilot iskenderfilms. It's an area called Yanartaş in Antalya, one of the provinces which make up the country's Mediterranean region. Located primarily within one of Turkey's national parks, the area is distinguished by fires which emanate from small vents in the rocks of the mountains here. This has been going on for thousands of years; beneath the fires is a temple fo the Greek god of fire, Hephaestus.

Yanartas (Chimera)(Antalya/Turkey) is situated on the site of dozens of small fires that burn constantly from vents in the rocks. Legend of Chimera According to one of the great myths of Greeks, the monster called the Chimera was a fire breathing monster, part lion, goat and snake. The Lycian King sends the young boy named Bellerophontes to fight with the fire breathing monster. Bellerophontes goes to the fight with his horse with wings named Pegassos. While Chimaera attacts Pegasus rises and when Bellerophontes goes down, he hits Chimera with his spear and buries the monster into the seven depths of the ground. Chiemera continues to breath fire since than.
