Enoshima is a tiny Japanese island which lies just off the island of Honshu, the largest island of the archipelago. It is part of the city of Fijisawa, to which it is connected by bridge. The area lies at the mouth of the Katase River on Sagami Bay, a bit southwest of Yokohama (which lies on the adjacent Tokyo Bay). Enoshima has become a major beach destination, within easy reach of the tens of millions who live within a few hours' drive of the island.
