We are gonna be traveling across the country stopping in some of your favorite cities and hanging out with the a local celebrity whose gonna show us all that city has to offer from a brand new perspective. The sky. whether it's the city's historic boulevards, popping night club scene, standing architecture or [00:00:30] renowned natural land scape, Droning America's goal is to show you all the sites and sounds of that city. We are kicking things up here in the mid west. It's a big trans city and its the home of the Badgers, Madison, Wisconsin. I'm running up with Krista, from the Marco and Krista morning show on 93.1 Jams. She's gonna show us some of Madison's hot spots and landmarks. And our first stop is a favorite hang out amongst the locals. A restaurant right next to the Capitol. Alright Krista, we are here kind [00:01:00] of in the heart of the city, we have the Capital right across the street. And you've chosen the old fashion for the place to meet up. What makes this place so special? Krista: Well, the old fashion is actually beautiful. It's right on the capital, people come here like during the day. They get a great cocktail. Again it's old fashion, and everyone loves an old fashion here at Wisconsin plus you get to look right outside in the Capital while you're in there. Angie Avestruz: I hear there's a city ordinance that says no building can develop taller than the Capitol, is that true? Have you heard anything about that? Krista: That's true. You could live like literally kind of far [00:01:30] away from here and see the Capitol. It's beautiful up the back line, you can see it, it's just, you know. Angie Avestruz: Another clothing estate street starts at Capitol. And that's a popular place here in the city of Madison. Krista: If you just tuned in you know where State Street at. State Street is absolutely amazing. I remember going there when I was in college back in. It's kind of a lot from now. But its definitely happening there. You've got all the fine restaurants there, you've got all the bars that you could possibly wanna go to. You've got food trucks, they got [00:02:00] flower trucks. You can entertainers out there. Everything is there. Angie Avestruz: you said it's popular with the locals and students. What makes it such a great tourist attraction? Krista: I think it's just because the heart of this city really goes to the university. And if you wanna see what Madison is all about, the admiration that we have for the Badgers and all, it's all there. Everything you need to know about Madison, it's on the streets. Angie Avestruz: Next up, the nearly 170 year old campus [00:02:30] of The University Of Wisconsin. Well Krista, we've made it to The UW Madison Campus. We are kind of on the heart of campus right now. Tell us a little about where we are? Krista: Definitely this a beautiful area, it's opposite side of the artistry and all the brilliant minded students go here. Beautiful [inaudible 00:02:47] all [inaudible 00:02:49] chancellors. This is Bascom Hill that we are standing on now. When the weathers are really nice there you would see students out here being on college, or meet their [inaudible 00:02:55] guitar and everything. Got their bikinis on. I mean when you are in college [00:03:00] you looking for the home club tour. I was just kidding. It was back in the day. Everyone in the south here are enjoying their lunch, their breaks during classes, studying outside here. Angie Avestruz: So it's great. That's a great work out. Krista: How did you know coz we just walked up the hill? Angie Avestruz: So I see there's a snowman down there. What other kind of inter activities do the students get into out here? Krista: We go crazy here, okay. It's all about snow ball fights. You better watch out. Something that's like really popular too, is [00:03:30] when the students graduate. They would go and sit on the statue of Abraham's laps and take his picture. Why don't you, you agree with me this is the best school it's a lead school at Wisconsin. Angie Avestruz: You heard that. Krista: Take that picture with the president. Angie Avestruz: Alright I'm sitting. Even though it was frozen over, we had to find out the best place take in Lake Monona. One of the lakes that gives Madison a sleek name, The City Of All Lakes. So we've seen State Street was just pretty popular spot in the fall, especially on Haloween, [inaudible 00:03:59] is pretty big in the screen. [00:04:00] Now your saying Monona Terrace is a hot spot in the summer? Krista: It's a place to be, yes. Definitely the Monona terrace is absolutely beautiful, good for a ride. There's this beautiful convention center. As far as through in the summer you can bring you're girlfriends out have a nice cocktail on top of the terrace. A lots of people get married here, there are huge events that happen here. So it's basically everything to everyone. Then here during the summer too, we'll have big events that will stretch out from like this entire area, up [00:04:30] the deck and it will just be good time so it's fun. Angie Avestruz: On our way out of town, we stopped by the Bowl August Stadium in college football, Camp Randall. The stadium famous for it's reach history the Bowl Team conference championships is known to the student lab, Jump Around. That takes place before the Bowl Courtroom at every home game. Make sure to tune in next time on Droning America, we could pop up in a city near you.
