Delray's Distancing Beaches

AIRVŪZ STAFF NOTE : Former Drone Video of the Week winner msember brings us this fantastic drone video from the beaches of Delray Beach, Florida, about 80 km (around 50 mi.) north of Miami. The video was filmed during the Covid-19 pandemic in the Spring of 2020. While Florida initially resisted calls for closing its beaches, images and videos of spring break revelers crowding some of the most popular beaches on Florida's Gold Coast led to statewide beach closures as state and local authorities scrambled to contain the deadly virus.

I am proud to call Delray Beach my home beach here in South Florida. Delray is consistently ranked a top beach in the state. A beach that is usually crowed with people from all over was shut down right at the start of spring break. Many of the career lifeguards and residents have never seen our beach as empty and pristine as it has been over the last couple of months.
