DT S1E5: Triple Cliff Dive

The pilots can't get enough Moab! On this episode of Drone Trippin, the group makes another impromptu stop when they see a spot they just can't pass up: a massive red rock cliff face that will set the stage for a never-before-attempted triple dive.

Shaun: I'm back here trying to harness my inner Kylo Ren, but not the wuss Kylo Ren, the knight period Kylo Ren. Get that guy back in the game. It's okay, we're gonna be all right dog, we're gonna be all right. Dang! Look at that. Wow! [00:01:00] Cliff diving, cliff crashing ... Trey: It was amazing how high up those rocks were. Colby: We saw this massive 350 foot cliff and we could not resist. Shaun: Right here? Is that what we do, a dive and then do a reverse dive, upside down. Colby: That's be pretty dope. Shelby: We're gonna do a [00:01:30] unison dive. I'll go up first, I'll call them out three, two, one, invert dive. [inaudible 00:01:36]. Colby: I'm having some issues here guys. Shelby: No, you're not. Don't say that. Got him! Trey: The first time I went up, I went and dove and it actually made me anxious, like I really felt like I was jumping off of this rock and diving [00:02:00] towards the ground, so it was really cool. Zoe: I did some really cool stuff. I basically switched the gravity button off, and as you'll see from my footage, I go up, but I don't come back down. One of [00:03:00] the coolest things we got to do on this trip was the formation diving of a cliff. Colby: We decided to do a triple cliff dive. I don't know if that's ever been attempted. Zoe: Kick off at the time, and formation, go up I think [00:03:30] it's like a 400 foot cliff, and come back down all in the same shot. And it was some of the most fun I've had on this trip. Colby: Check on [00:04:00] my other quad. Zoe: Shaun? Shaun: Sweet! I'm feeling it. Zoe: Okay, I did something no one's done yet. So, I'm pulling up on the cliff facing, and then I just turn, invert [00:04:30] it and keep going up. I could just like spin [beep 00:04:36] like into the sunset and just ... Shaun: Colby lost his quad. He lost his signal at the very, very top. Colby: Got to the top of the cliff, lost video, started free-falling. Trey: And eventually I heard a thump behind us about 50 [00:05:00] feet and everything was okay. Colby: I got a bad regulator on my PDV so I lost video. Shaun: I did too at first for a second, it glitched, and then I got it back and dove all the way straight down. It was nuts! Crazy. Oh man, that battery is done, it's burning me. Shaun: So, we were [00:05:30] just about to pull up to our campsite and off to the left, we saw this busted down [inaudible 00:05:35], with all the doors broken out and it was up on some lifts, so I looked at that, and I looked at Shaun and I told him, I got a challenge for you.
