Colors on Lanzarotte Island

Check out this beautiful drone video from the island of Lanzarote, the easternmost of Spain's Canary Islands off the North African coast.  The video features some particularly good aerial footage of the area around Timanfaya National Park, which covers much of the southwestern part of the island.  The spectacular landform and coloring are largely a function of the island's young age - like the other Canaries, emerged from the floor of the Atlantic Ocean only about 15 million years ago, virtually yesterday in geological terms.
