Christ the Redeemer - Portugal
AIRVŪZ STAFF NOTE :
One of the great modern landmarks of modern Lisbon is the giant Christ the King Statue which overlooks the Portuguese capital city from the town of Almada on the opposite side of the Tagus River. Seen here in this drone video by rpj321, it lies just to the east of the southern terminus of the 25 de Abril Bridge. Its design was inspired by the Christ the Redeemer statue which overlooks the city of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Completed in 1959, it celebrates Portugal's escape (via neutrality) from the horrors of World War II.

There is a replica of the Christ the Redeemer statue in Lisbon that I think everyone should go and see. And of course, it's a replica of the Golden Gate Bridge. 2 beautiful creations, one place.
