Castello Scaligero

AIRVŪZ STAFF NOTE : Contributor Luca T. created this beautiful bird's eye view of a medieval era castle in northern Italy. It sits atop a hill overlooking the town of Soave in Verona, one of the provinces which makes up the Veneto region of the country. The castle dates to the 10th century AD, possibly earlier, although it's been modified extensively. Its outer wall was built by the Venetians in the 15th century. It is sometimes referred to as a Scaliger castle in reference to the family which ruled Verona in the 13th and 14th centuries.
