Germany's Rötteln Castle is one of the most famous in Baden-Württemberg, the country's southwesternmost state. Seen in this drone video by DanielDrone123, it's located near the city of Lörrach, close to the Swiss border. Situated on a hill, the castle is believed to originally date to the 12th century. The castle was heavily damaged in the Basel earthquake of 1356, the largest seismic event in Central Europe in recorded history. It went on to play an important role in several historic conflicts, including the Thirty Years War.
