Brazil From Above: The Serra da Mantiqueira

The Mantiqueira's are one of Brazil's most important mountain ranges, covering portions of the southeastern states of São Paulo, Minas Gerais and Rio de Janeiro. Their tallest peak, Pedra da Mina, has a summit altitude of about 9.2k ft above sea level (around 2.8k m). The mountains are the source of several of the key rivers supplying the giant cities of Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo with drinking water.
