(around 4 million cubic m) of rock into the valley, killing at least eight hikers.  The video features shots of the new hiking path which was recently built to restore access to the area.

BADGES THIS VIDEO HAS EARNED:

On August 23, 2017, a landslide broke away from the northeast face of Pizzo Cengalo in Val Bondasca crashing down onto the glacier below and triggering a debris flow of 4 million cubic meters. Eight people were swept away and were never found.

Eight years after the devastating landslide, a new hiking trail is being inaugurated. Over a length of 8 kilometers, it climbs about 1'400 meters in elevation and crosses several deep gorges thanks to four suspension bridges.
