Awake - The Stockyards

AIRVŪZ STAFF NOTE : Chicago became the metropolis it is due to its location relative to the USA's agricultural resources and transportation systems. This was manifested first and foremost in the massive stockyards which once ringed the city and employed thousands, where animals fattened by grain from the country's farm heartland were converted into consumable meat for shipment east where most of the USA's mouths were located. Heyheyyoushould gives us a brief but enlightening aerial look at the old stockyard district.

"Awake" is a series that began after I realized I'm up super early so I should try to shoot whatever I can. This was an improptu flight on Chicago's southside over one of the old stockyard buildings, The Stock Yard National Bank. I've always been fascinated with the steeple of this building!
