Although not as famous as the Eiffel Tower, the Arc de Triomphe of Paris, France is still one of the most significant and famous landmarks in the world. Built between 1806 and 1836, its triumphal arches were meant to reflect the political changes and power struggles at the time, and were an ode to those who fought in the Napoleonic Wars.
