Alpine Lakes
AIRVŪZ STAFF NOTE :
Take a journey through the Swiss and Austrian Alps in this short piece by pilot ClearSky. Most of the Alpine lakes lie in valleys that were formed during the uplift of the mountain chain during the Ice Age. Glaciers flowed through the valleys, deepening and excavating the ground. Water eventually filled up these spots, creating what you see today. Some are clear, others are deep blue, it all just depends on the location and composition of the minerals around each lake.
