World of Drones is your weekly drone news update. Last year’s Originality Drone Video Award winner, Panvelvet uploaded this incredible drone video called, "Action on Action." Aerial Cinematographer, Douglas Thron, was in the Bahamas helping out with relief efforts and filming the devastation after Hurricane Dorian when he spotted a dog amongst all the destruction. After feeding the dog, Douglas was able to lead rescue teams to the pup. Douglas uses specialized infrared drones to find animals hidden in the debris and has already found over a dozen dogs and cats. You can help Douglas rescue more animals by donating to his GoFundMe Page. We’ve linked it in the description below. Drone manufacturer, DJI, just announced a new drone optimized for agricultural work, the Agras T16. This highly specialized drone has a payload of up to 16 liters and features 8 sprayers. Utilizing a FPV camera and HD video transmission the T16 can travel up to 3km and ensures flight safety with obstacle avoidance. DJI also recently announced a new version of the Phantom 4, the P4 Multispectral, a “high-precision drone with an integrated multispectral imaging system built for agriculture missions, environmental monitoring and more.” DJI has been branching out to prove drones can be used for much more than film. Researchers at the University of Michigan attached a nail gun to a drone. This autonomous octocopter demonstrated how a drone could be used to nail shingles onto a roof. While it isn’t as fast as a professional roofer, the point is that it’s potentially safer than having a human climb onto a roof. Last month the FAA did warn people against attaching weapons to drones, but in the name of home repairs, this may just fly. Uploading your drone videos to AirVuz.com is one of the easiest ways to earn money! Every week we give out $250 dollars to the best drone video uploaded and then we take all of our weekly winners and pick a drone video of the Month that will get $500.
