AirVūz News: World of Drones 06/28/21

Published 06/28/2021 08:57

Welcome to the “World of Drones,” your weekly news show for all things drone related.

Attention all US drone pilots, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) recently announced that all recreational flyers must pass an aeronautical knowledge and safety test and be able to provide proof of a passed test to the FAA or law enforcement upon request. The test, called TRUST, is mandatory no matter the size or weight of the drone being flown. The good news is that it’s easily accessible and virtually impossible to fail, meaning if you miss a question it will give you another chance until you answer correctly. TRUST is online, free and should take no more than 30 minutes. Once you pass the multiple choice test you’ll receive a certificate that never expires. We’ve linked the list of FAA Approved Test Administrators in the description.

Here on the ‘World of Drones’ we’ve reported on many drone light shows across the globe, but I think this is a first… a drone show in China earlier this month allegedly went awry causing many of the drones to plummet from the sky. Originally reported on kanzhaji.com, the incident took place in the North Bund in Shanghai. In the video you can see the drones creating words in the sky before falling into the water. No word yet on what caused the incident, who was putting on the show or if anyone was injured.

Now it’s time to go over the top 5 drone videos uploaded to AirVuz.com last week and name one the ‘Drone Video of the Week.’
