AirVūz News: World of Drones 06/24/19

Published 06/24/2019 06:08
The team at AirVuz HQ gets you caught up on the World of Drones - your weekly fix for all things drone related.

Kicking things off with headlines, Iran shooting down a United States UAV last week has taken over the news and while we don’t get into politics here at AirVuz, we will say the drone was identified as an RQ-4A Global Hawk surveillance drone with an estimated $220 Million.

Speaking of surveillance, Amazon may soon be able to add that to its resume. The tech giant received approval from federal officials earlier this month for a patent for "home surveillance" drones. The plan is still very early, but a glimpse into the future shows Amazon customers being able to order a drone to hover around a home scanning for things such as an open door, a broken window, or a fire.

Moving on to the world of FPV, the third annual MultiGP International Open kicks off this Wednesday in Muncie, Indiana. Let us know if you’re heading to this 5 day FPV extravaganza and stay tuned for the AirVuz 8 Track Challenge which will be announced on our site later this week.

The Drone Racing League announced it will host its first live US race at Chase Field in Phoenix, Arizona on September 8th. Thousands of fans will have the opportunity to watch FPV pilots fly through a neon-colored, 3D course around the baseball field as part of the 2019 DRL Allianz World Championship Season. Tickets are available now and we’ve posted the link to get them in the description below.

A new episode of aerial traveler is coming out on wednesday. This week we take you to Croatia.

Want to win money for your drone videos? Upload them to AirVuz.com for your chance at being crowned Drone Video of the Week. We announce a new winner every Tuesday. Check back tomorrow to see who’s walking away with $250.

That’s all for today, but stay tuned to AirVuz.com, more drone content gets uploaded daily.
