AirVūz News: World of Drones 04/13/20

Published 04/13/2020 04:06

We begin in Africa, where healthcare technology company Lifebank has been working on a new way to deliver blood to hospitals in an efficient, timely and life saving manner. Temie Giwa-Tubosun, founder and CEO of Lifebank, is leading the project that would involve drones in their delivery services, which already includes ground and water transportation.
"After running our operations for three years we knew that there were some patients we could not reach on time. Like areas where there are bandits on the road so we need to fly," said Giwa Tubosun after she took home the $250k top prize in the first annual Africa Netpreneur Prize Initiative last year.
While we’ve seen numerous businesses around the world being affected or even closed down because of the lockdowns and quarantine orders due to Covid 19, a family in the Channel Islands found a fun way to keep their cafe open. Jackson Lowe and his family at Nude Food Cafe located in Channel Island town of Jersey have started doing deliveries to stay afloat. But it’s not just conventional ground deliveries, they broke out the drone too. Oh, and that's just the beginning. In a message to AirVuz, Lowe says it’s his 7 year old son doing some of those drone deliveries, including the one in their new promotional film, which you can see on AirVuz!
We have been seeing more and more, and more empty streets due to the various lockdowns around the world. Each one just as jaw dropping as the last. Make sure to catch the latest AirVuz Info Story as we show you some of those cities around the globe. And if you have footage of your city while these lockdowns are taking place, please upload them to AirVuz.com.
