The drone industry is booming all over the world, but one country might be benefitting the most from the increase of consumer drones.A recent report estimates that China’s drone market value could be worth more than $11 billion by 2025. That number comes from a study done by iResearch, a Chinese consulting firm.According to the iResearch report, China’s consumer drone market had increased by more than 50 percent in recent years. Several drone technology companies are located in China, including drone manufacturers DJI and Yuneec. The study estimates that more than 40 percent of the drone market in 2025 will consist of aerial photography and entertainment. Nearly 30 percent of the market will come from agriculture and forestry. An additional 20 percent of the revenue is expected to come from security uses.The report by iResearch notes that China has 21 drone companies funded between 2010 and 2015, compared to 15 in the United States.
The market size in iResearch’s study includes only the sales of drones and drone-related hardware. Services were not included in the market estimations.
