At the Liberty Science Center for the "Day of Drones"which was a part of the New York City Drone Film Festival. Filmgoers were not only invited to watch the films on display, they were invited to meet the people behind them, learn from them and see a ton of different drone activities.
The 2 day event included a meet and great for sponsors and finalists at the RED Digital Cinema shop in New York on Friday night, where the Grand Prize $75,000 camera, drone, and gimbal combination was on display.
Saturday included panels with acclaimed drone cinematographers at Skirball Center for the Performing Arts and an official screening of nominees in each of the categories. AirVūz announced the award for Best News/Documentary Film, #NoDAPL: Drones Monitor North Dakota Police.
The 3rd Annual event concluded Sunday with the Day of Drones. Attendees and Science Center visitors alike were invited to explore the Drone Expo, hear about different drones in the Flight Cage, watch an FPV Freestyle competition, and view the Festival’s 2017 winners. AirVuz FPV Team Member, Colby Curtola walked away with the prize for best Freestyle flight of the day.
Attendees of the Festival were also invited to Beginner, Intermediate, and Master level classes hosted by industry insiders like Andy Shen of Shendrones, Director Ty Evans, and RED and Freefly Systems Representatives.
