“Do the Dew” is the recognizable slogan of PepsiCo’s Mountain Dew soda. Their latest announcement, however, may have us saying “Do the Drone.”
The company just announced they will present a new drone racing special, dubbed the “DR1 Invitational” come August of this year.
To promote the event, Mountain Dew released this ad showing the fictional sport of “drone hunting.”
When asked why they were joining the drone racing world, a company spokesperson told Variety, “We wanted to get in early and make sure we put our stamp on it. Drone racing is right at the intersection of technology and entertainment and forward thinking.”
The show is slated to air on both Science Channel and Discovery Channel with live streaming of the actual races on Twitch.
