Technology has made drones incredibly intelligent. Flying them has become safer and easier, however knowing how to fly doesn’t necessarily mean pilots know how to create moving images or films. That’s where DMC comes in. “A lot of people think that just because they have a drone they can get cool photos and cool video, but there’s so much bad drone footage out there. People are really missing out on an opportunity to capitalize on drone photography and drone footage, and make money, make side income. I know a lot of people who actually do it full-time and make six figures. Why wouldn’t you want to excel at your craft? Just because you have a drone doesn’t mean the drone is going to do all the work for you. Drone Master Class is going to be a platform where you don’t have to go on and search a million YouTube videos to find something great. You can go straight to Drone Master Class and find incredible content from very credible film makers and teachers.” Drone Master Class, or DMC, was the brainchild of AirVuz Contributor and Award-Winning Cinematographer Jay Worsley, whose work has led to shoots with companies like BBC, LG, Amazon, and Samsung. While searching for great tutorials, Jay says he was disappointed – they were either all about passing your Part 107, poorly made, or difficult to find. He says there wasn’t anything out there that was all encompassing or up-to-date. That’s why his course is a lifetime membership with fresh classes and instructors as the technology evolves. “The cool thing is, this isn’t just a one and done – you sign up for my class and it’s done and over. For me as a filmmaker, I’m constantly changing and evolving, so what was relevant for me two years ago probably isn’t relevant for me now with how I’ve grown as a filmmaker. Since the drone industry changes so much, it evolves so much and everything moves so quickly I want to have things fresh all the time.” Jay says his goal is to release new videos once every quarter with 10 to 15 other professionals also teaching courses, like well-known drone pilot ‘From Where I Drone’s” Dirk Dallas. The membership includes courses on location scouting, shooting techniques, licensing, effects and more. Jay says he is also releasing color presets for photos and videos that will be included in the membership and available for purchase to the public. Jay hopes to someday hold workshops around the country and make Drone Master Class the industry standard for drone education. For now, though, he’s hopeful his experiences will help eager pilots refine their craft with his online courses. “Because I’ve been able to capitalize off of my drone footage, I know what has worked for me. I want to be able to share my skills and techniques, along with all of those other teachers so everyone can make this more than just a hobby, but be able to inspire people off of their footage and ultimately make money off of their footage.” Drone Master Class is currently on sale for $349 versus the standard $499 for a lifetime membership.
