The Federal Aviation Administration recently created a new drone advisory council comprised of industry stakeholders. Leading the council is Intel CEO Brian Krzanich, whose company just made history lighting up the desert sky. In this video released earlier this month, Intel demonstrates their expertise in the UAS field by showing what they say is the first aerial experience in the United States. Executed in Palm Spring, California, Drone 100 was produced by setting small UAV’s on a ground grid. The lighted drones were then flown above the grid in specific formations while their lights blinked on and off. But it wasn’t Intel’s first go at an aerial light show. We’ve actually done this in Germany and it was absolutely incredible and so we were able to get an exemption from the FAA and so this will be the first time we're able to fly numerous drones with a single operator here in the US. They say their goal is to be able perform the light show over stadiums and events, with “visions of going from 100 to 1,000” drones per aerial show.
