Handing out $10,000 to some of the world’s top drone pilots, the 2nd Annual Drone Video Awards was a major success. Broadcast live from Bauhaus Brew Labs in Minneapolis, Minnesota, U.S.A., the show ran just under two hours and included celebrity guests like members of Team Rotor Riot, Jesse Perkins of Tiny Whoop, Women Who Drone CEO Elena Buenrostro and drone journalist Sally French aka Drone Girl. Unlike the inaugural show, the 2nd Annual Awards were held in front of a live audience and included a Tiny Whoop race. The AirVūz Post-Show Pilot Pick’em was run by HydraFPV and streamed on the AirVūz FPV Facebook page. The 18 categories included new categories Drones for Good, Game of Drones, and multiple FPV categories, tripling that portion of the show. Each category winner went home with $500, while new category People’s Choice, based off of Drone Video of the Month winners, took home $1,000. The grand prizes FPV Video of the Year went to JohnnyFPV’s "Saudi Arabia" while Drone Video of the Year was awarded to Mike Bishop for is piece "Kingdom of the Wild, Wildlife in Namibia Africa". Bishop, who watched the show via the live stream, said “I can’t believe I won, what just happened?? I’m so freaking grateful.” Both men won an additional $3,000.
