Since we started AirVūz News in 2015 – public perception of drones has changed dramatically. They’re now much more mainstream and socially accepted. So much so, that the fashion industry is including them on their runways and in their spreads. It should come as no surprise that those who set the trends, also open their arms to new technology. Fashion house Dolce & Gabbana substituted drones for models in their Fall Winter 2018/19 collection. Several online news outlet reported that guests were asked to turn off their phones’ wifi and personal hotspots about 45 minutes before the show, later learning that it was so signals would not interfere with the drones. This isn’t the first time fashion and drones collided. In their October 2017 issue, Harper’s Bazaar featured “Drones and Dresses – the past and future collide at Paris couture” with photographs by renowned fashion icon Karl Lagerfeld. And fashion and beauty bloggers have been using drones to shoot still images and short videos years. Featured in our story: Jordan Underwood and Champagne + Macaroons. Follow us on Instagram
