U-K development firm 'Cambridge Consultants' came up with 'DelivAir'- a drone delivery system that brings your order right into your own two hands. If you think it's all sci-fi wishful thinking, think again. The company relied on already-existing technology- and it's pretty simple. It works in two stages- here's how: Your smart phone is the key to it all. Instead of going to a street address, the drone uses G-P-S to find it's way to your phone. It'll ask for secure location updates along the way. So- once it's hovering above you, how does the delivery actually get into your hands? Cambridge says it all has to do with that little L-E-D light on your phone. Aim the light up, and it'll blink a coded pattern telling the drone that it has the right person. The package is then winched down to you. While this may sound extreme, designers say it has some very real-world uses. Delivering a first aid kit to an injured hiker, or carrying supplies to a hard-to-reach disaster area, for example.
