Train Chasing by FPV

AirVūz pilot nurkfpv's most epic flight of 2017 was a winner in the 1st Annual AirVuzDrone Video Awards for the best Freestyle Drone Video, and it continues to pile on the views, comments, and deservedly, the accolades.  Like a train heist you see in a movie, he unexpectedly lands his quad on top of the moving train he's chasing. It's a jaw-dropping fllight you have to see, although you just may find yourself ducking and flinching as his quad makes these bold FPV maneuevers.  This flight has inspired many creative FPV flights.

AirVuz contributor and first person view (FPV) pilot HoverState_ was looking for some new spots to rip when he came across these lazy trains.  As the boxcars doze on the quiet tracks, one train is stirred perhaps by the relentless whir of the quad props buzzing around the yard.  The video combines some great (slow) train racing footage with some great technical freestyle FPV flight, making for some very compelling viewing.  

AirVuz contributor and first person view (FPV) pilot Bibo FPV put together this very creative video of a train, a bridge, and a winter landscape.  Set to dramatic music, the video opens with a series of quick shots showing the bridge and an approaching train.  As the train draws up to and crosses the bridge, the shots then alternate between the train and an FPV view of what the scene would look like from the standpoint of the locomotive as well as the caboose.  This video was picked for the FPAV Pilots to Watch list in February, 2022.  

What a way to start the New Year off right. AirVuz contributor and first person view (FPV) phenom Wynn FPV takes out his Lumenier Charpu 210 racking quad with Emax 2306 2400kv motors and Rotor Riot camera to chase down a running locomotive through the snow. His speed, angles, and no-hesitation style of flying around the heaving train makes this dynamic chase one to remember, giving us a profound appreciation for the skill required to pilot a quad around these giant pieces of fast-moving machinery.

In this video, AirVuz contributor and first person view (FPV) pilot Ivan Merino puts a new spin on the FPV train chasing genre.  Rather than "simply" chase a moving train with his FPV racing quad, he lands on the roof of one of the cars!  After some opening maneuvers, you'll see him pick his spot, gently setting his quad down on the roof of one of the cars.  Then he takes off and does it again, landing on the roof of another car.  Wash, rinse, repeat.  The video ends with a nice landing on the last car in the train, a flatcar.

A steam locomotive is a train that gets its power by burning coal, wood or oil in a boiler. The steam that is produced by burning that material is dispersed to the train’s pistons, which are connect to the train’s main wheels. Once they get enough power - well, you know the rest. InspireFPV finds an old steam train to follow and the blend of old technology with new is a sight to see. After all, an FPV drone weighs next to nothing and is powered by the smallest of batteries; quite the contradiction to the massive machine it is speeding by!
