Tiny Whoops

Around the time that Horizon Hobby created the consumer-friendly, "toy" type Blade Inductrix, professional pilots and hobbyists alike loved the micro-sized drones, but the pros wanted more. That's where this story begins. Hear the story behind the Tiny Whoop craze from the company who created the first micro drone and the man who has become synonymous with Whoopin, Jesse Perkins. 

Tiny Whoop drones are small enough and safe enough to fly anywhere. Check out some places these pilots have flown these agile mini drones including - an aerial yoga studio, a boxing ring, the Fountains of Bellagio, a bar, a bowling alley, a arcade, night clubs, and more! 

We may be biased, since it is our backyard at our Drone Video Awards, but we have to agree that this is one epic tiny whoop playground. Who better to rip it up than Rotor Riot’s own Le Drib. With appearances by NurkFPV, StingersSwarm,  and more it’s an 8 minute video that is definitely beyond worth your time!

In a micro flying piece that brings us around the backyard, through a playground, and around an aerial artist, shoeface has a video worth its Drone Video Awards Micro Drone Acro Mode nomination. This epic flight is accomplished thanks to alienwhoop zero and betafpv boards, plus 6mm and 7mm motors, mixed with some serious skill.  

Have you ever seen a flight through the corn fields? No, not over the corn fields, literally through the rows upon rows of tall, green and yellow vegetables. We hadn’t either until Nick Lang brought us out to the farm with his Tiny Whoop Nano drone, one of the smallest semi-pro drones on the market. It’s great for first-timers, but also great for folks like Nick who are accomplished pilots that want to try out new angles. 

One of the greatest things about a Tiny Whoop is you can fly them just about anywhere.  Even through your entryway chandelier...which may not be for everyone, but for a pilot as skilled as joshevansfpv it's definitely doable. We've seen fantastic FPV flights with pilots capturing extreme sports, most of which have been filmed with standard-sized quads. This one does so, but with the tiniest FPV quad of them all, the Tiny Whoop. Almost everyone has been bowling in their life times. However, very few of us have ever seen the pins quite like this. Take a ride down the bowling lane through the eyes of a micro quad - behind the ball, through the pins, even up the ball return line with this impressive Tiny Whoop angle flight. This is a Tiny Whoop Angle Mode nominated video in the 2nd Annual Drone Video Awards.

Whooping the Materhorn? The Materhorn Bar and Grill, that its. This flight, though, is arguably more exciting than if KeleFPV whooped through the infamous mountain in the Alps. He'll rip through Maine's skier and snowboarder bar during a concert in this exciting edit, earning a nomination for the 2nd Annual Drone Video Awards in the Tiny Whoop Angle Mode category.

Would you have enough guts to rip around the heads of some of the most famous FPV pilots in the world? mrhappefpv did and the end result was pretty cool! He debuts his "BiClops" Tiny Whoop with a flight over said pilot's heads, then rips through several race courses in Japan, Malaysia, and home in Vancouver, B.C., Canada in this Tiny Whoop Angle Mode Drone Video Awards' nominated piece.

Running on the Alienwhoop Zero Prototype, this one-shot wonder is a flight to remember. Flowing this good in acro mode isn't as easy as it looks, but flow this easy has never looked so good. This video is a nominee in the 2nd Annual Drone Video Awards for the Tiny Whoop Acro Mode category.

"Over the river and through the woods" are both the lyrics from the famous holiday song as well as the path Downtown fpv takes in this Christmas gift to himself - a compilation of his favorite acro flights of the year. He takes his Tiny Whoop gliding over the water, through a neighborhood park, and around the yard in the celebratory edit, which was a Tiny Whoop Acro Mode Nominee in the 2nd Annual Drone Video Awards.

Did you know a 6mm drone can be thrown out the window of a car driving 30 mph? OracleFPV shows us how it's done with this Tiny Whoop flight through the streets of the Bronx. He flies this tiny quad above a moving bus, then lands through the sunroof of the car into the pilot's outstretched hand, earning a nomination in the Tiny Whoop Angle Mode category in the 2nd Annual Drone Video Awards.

Founded in 1907, the Science Museum of Minnesota is focused on teaching museum goers about technology, natural history, physical science and math. It makes sense that it opened its doors to FPV pilot Carp3x6 and his friends so they could take in the space with their Tiny Whoops; FPV drones are a new form of technology after all. Getting an up close look at some of the massive displays, including a three-story high astronaut suit, Carp3x6 definitely made the most of his time while he had the usually busy museum all to himself. 

The team at Rotor Riot has, again, pulled together some phenomenal pilots to rip up a perfect location. This time, UmmaGawd, Le Drib, and StingersSwarm are joined by NurkFPV and Phluxy FPV at the Big Thrill Factory in Minneapolis just after the 2nd Annual Drone Video Awards. The focus? Taking the most popular micro brushless drones and comparing them for on racing, freestyle and durability capabilities. AirVuz pilot Wild Willy FPV made it up to our headquarters in Minneapolis, Minnesota to fly around one of our favorite breweries - home of the 2nd Annual Drone Video Awards and a plethora of other local micro drone races, Bauhaus Brew Labs. He’ll rip it up with three different drones: his Tiny Whoop to fly through the bar with, his FPV mini quad to rip up his own “obstacle course” out back, and a DJI Mavic Pro to grab all of his “super cinematic” drone shots. It’s a fun piece that might inspire you to walk your three drones into a bar.

Nurkfpv and friends go rogue with a TinyWhoop inside a hotel in Louisville, Kentucky.  Through whispers and crafty scheming, they attempt an elevator bank dive in the center of the hotel with great success.  Props to these guys for taking on the challenge. Microdrones can be flown almost anywhere, and that's one of their biggest attractions.  Virtually any location becomes a "gap party" for skilled FPV pilots.  In this drone video, AirVuz contributor and FPV pilot Trainer Tallman FPV shows off his skills in his favorite place to Whoop - the rafters of a pavilion.  The video was taken straight from the goggles - no fancy editing here - shows just how good on the sticks this guy is. This video was a Finalist in the Micro Drone -  Acro Mode category at the second annual Drone Video Awards.

This miniature train town is a perfect playground for FPV pilot SFPV's micro drone and he takes it over with this super fun flight. He performs loops and whirls all over the teensy train tracks with his insane Whoop skills, nabbing him a spot in our 2nd Annual Drone Video Awards' Micro Drone Acro Mode and Tiny Whoop Acro Mode categories.

Earning him the title of FPV Pilot to Watch in January of 2019, this collection of flights by Afpvwolf is like a dream cabin-cation for any FPV pilot. Whooping through a racecourse in the cabin? Check. Surfing down the raging river in the woods? Also check. Flipping through the woods and over the cabin? Obviously. Show us any pilot who wouldn't want to be a part of this and we'll show you a liar. 

You know that feeling when you find something you thought was lost forever? That’s how phluxyfpv must have felt when he found the SD card that stored footage he took while ripping through Jesse Perkin’s Tiny Whoop HQ in Colorado at the 2019 Tiny Whoop Invitational. The course, custom built by Mr. Tiny Whoop himself, is like the most epic jungle gym ever built but for a micro quad and makes for a killer backdrop for the resulting video.

The Cheyenne Regional Airport (CYS) is a civil-military airport about a mile north of downtown Cheyenne, Wyoming. The airport is unique in that parking at the airport is free, mainly due to its small size. FPV Evil_Munkey flew his Tiny Whoop through the empty airport with a group of friends, setting up light up gates in a space that might not look all that different. However, when you think about it, it’s pretty crazy they were allowed to fly their micro drones in the airport since drones usually aren’t allowed within five-miles of one!

We’ve never see a flight quite like this. Tiny Whoop pilot CarpenterFPV is showing us the raw footage of his flight through a Cabela’s store. He’ll open with shots through the store’s infamous “mountain” giving him plenty of interesting things to look at, then move to the camping section of the outdoor store to fly through the hanging popup tents. Finally, he’ll check out Santa’s Workshop through the eyes of his micro drone. 

The Tiny Whoop Christmas Invitational is a legendary event for micro drone pilots. Put on by the visionary creator of the Tiny Whoop (a family of small first person view micro drones with ducted propellers), Jesse Perkins, the event brings together the best of the best Tiny Whoop pilots in the colorful labyrinth that is Tiny Whoop HQ in the western USA state of Colorado.  In this amazing video, AirVuz contributor and first person view pilot intent2bhuman used a "cinewhoop" FPV drone to film the action. 

This Tiny Whoop film won Best Story at the Inductrix Film Festival and was nominated in our inaugural AirVuz Drone Video Awards for being one fantastic flight. It has resonated with people for its simplicity and fun, capturing the dynamics of family members as they celebrate the American holiday, Thanksgiving. KatsuFPV is one heck of a micro drone pilot. He’s now won in both of our AirVuz Drone Video Awards. His first win was for this piece, flying his Tiny Whoop micro drone through a group of aerobatic artists in a work out class. It’s fun, goofy, and technically challenging, everything you’d ever want from an FPV video. With a pilot like this, you’re always excited to see what boundaries and barriers he’ll break next.

Yubeta.Blv FPV was one of the first, epic Tiny Whoop pilots we knew of, flying his micro drone in some of the most extreme conditions. One of those flights was this one, where he flew his Whoop at Monster Energy’s #Doonies. He’ll fly around, over, and through the monster trucks, fans, burn out cars, four-wheelers; really anything he can fly through! That’s why this flight earned him a nomination in our inaugural AirVuz Drone Video Awards in the Tiny Whoop category. 

Whooping through a library? From the noise, to the gates, to the distractions it sounds like something that would drive your Librarian crazy. But, Carp3x6 did and it looked awesome! Watch him and his friends zip around the bookshelves, through Tiny Whoop gates, and up and down the South St Paul, Minnesota Public Library - by the way, maybe invite us next time...we're feeling a little left out.
